Research Areas/Activities

Our team explores occupational safety and cognitive performance through innovative technologies. From studying musculoskeletal disorders in construction workers to enhancing safety training with VR and analyzing decision-making processes, our research aims to improve workplace health, safety, and efficiency.

Enhancing Construction Education Through Augmented Reality

An innovative pilot project using Augmented Reality (AR) to strengthen student understanding of how electrical hazards influence construction contracts, risk management, and ethical decision-making. The AR module will be integrated into key courses such as Construction Safety, Construction Contracts, Risks, and Ethics, helping students build critical thinking skills and practical knowledge in a safe, controlled environment. The project is supported by Quanta Services.

Work-Related Musculoskeletal Disorder

This research focuses on analyzing muscle fatigue and injury risks among roofers by assessing physical strain using wearable sensors (IMU and EMG). The goal is to develop strategies to reduce work-related musculoskeletal disorders and improve ergonomic safety.

Safety Awareness Learning and Training through VR

This project explores the use of Virtual Reality (VR) for construction safety training, enhancing hazard recognition and response in a controlled environment. It aims to improve workers' awareness and preparedness for on-site risks.
